Have to say I agree with Boo, if you give you receive. Must admit I am more inclined to follow or comment if something is given about the person and what they do etc. Why did I just look and not read about steampowered!!!
Tee hee! Most people know me as a joker so it was only natural that I should use my profile info for a joke! I will go and put a bit of blurb in there... after the joke, of course!

Hi all!!!! I am new here and new to photography with a real camera! I have been taking photos with my iphone, which turn out pretty good, but NOTHING like my semi professional camera my dad got me for Christmas. He is a photographer and so is my best friend. I am loving every moment of it! I am so excited to be here! I am getting so inspired by all the lovely photographs on this site, there are some really talented people here!!!
I love to photograph raw, organic and candid life!! People, flowers, landscape etc! I am starting a project of photographs of tattooed yoga girls and am really excited about that!!!
Hi All! I'm wandering around in here like a kid in a candy store! I have no idea if this community is made up of 50 or 5000? ;) Funny way for me to start of but my DSLR is temporarily out of reach and I'm using my little Casio point & shoot (3+ years old). Keeping things interesting!

@huvesaker Good idea for even the "oldies" to update their profile. I'm starting my second year and, when I read over my profile from last year, I saw that it didn't give a good picture of who I am now. Also, writing it, I was better able to focus what my goals are for the year.
sort of new, certainly back after a long enough break that all my old stuff has been archived/deleted - ah well, my fault, should have kept checking in now & again. Good to be back & have now updated my profile info! :)
Yes - I like a bit of background - much more inclined to follow - just a country of residence is a good start - especially for get pushed challenges - nice to know if they are in winter or summer etc!!….just of to read up on Steampowered!! :0)

Okay...I updated my profile...I know, why didn't upload a photo to add to my profile?!? I know, right...duh...well, I'm at work and the organization frowns on using their systems for photos and music. So, I did a quick profile update because the peer pressure was too great to ignore until tonight. I'll add my photo tonight...gotta go...I hear the boss coming!
Thanks for the pressure.. I've always disliked trying to write an "about me" thingy, but I went for it. Maybe I'll get more creative one night and have fun with it lol

Newbie here. I started posting pictures on January 1st and was lurking a few days before that trying to get a feel for the site. I posted a picture and bio right away. I find that I don't follow people if they don't have a bio posted. I have followed a few established photographers and would like to follow more newbies so we can all see how we've progressed by the end of the year. It's hard to view all the wonderful pictures that get posted in a day so it's nice having this thread to see who some of the newbies are. Thank you for starting it @huvesaker.
I'm always curious to know where everyone is from. It doesn't even have to be specific but it's nice to know what part of the world someone is from. At least I think so.
I might add that this site is addictive! I burnt my toast this morning looking at pictures and typing comments. I even came extremely close in taking a picture of that burnt toast. :-)
Another newbie here. I entered a little under my profile but will now go and enter more. Starting to get the hang of things now and enjoying making new relationships

Hi, another Newbie here. I also joined 1st Jan. I have been playing around with photography for a while, no real skill but want to get my camera off auto and start being more adventurous.
Just updated my profile. I'm intrigued by the concept of being involved in the same challenge with others in different climates/parts of the world. I'm actually very interested in being involved in collective challenges with a camera!
And seriously... is there a glossary somewhere to all the acronyms people use here? ;)
@huvesaker See what you have done Boo? Scared the bejasus out of the newbies and made them add profile pics and information :o)). Even I had to add some info but I am not losing my toy Meerkat in a hat picture for anyone (not even you!). If peeps want to see what I look like for real then there are plenty of selfies in my last year project. Then when they have seen my picture they can show their kids and say things like "See? This is what will happen to you if you don't eat your vegetables!" or "This is what happens when you make a face, the wind blows and it sticks like that!"
@steampowered HAHAHAHAHAHA I never asked for pictures...only info...LOL And I would hate for you to change your picture...hahaha you do make me laugh. Now if you REALLY want me to scare people.....
Okay, okay!! I did it, I added stuff about myself. Just so you know, I don't usually add info about me to sites. I have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the light. Well done Sir!

@misskenton Thanks Debbie. Can I let you into a little secret? I don't have a television (I threw it out twenty three years ago) so although I am aware of Coronation Street (I remember Ena Sharples!), I wouldn't have a clue as to what an X factor is and whilst my musical tastes stretch from insanely heavy through jazz and blues right into classical and Alte Musick, Take That have as much room as Justin Bieber and Eminem in there (i.e. no room at all) so Mr Barlow is a total unknown to me! Just call me a grumpy old grouch... :o)
