I've only been up there a handful of times and I posted a picture yesterday that has a shot. 21 faves in 24 hours. That NEVER happens for me.
However, when I posted, I screwed up the date and put tomorrows date instead of yesterday. If I switch it will I ruin my chance of making it on the big board? I know, I shouldnt be concerned with being up there, but there's a part of me that just wants to see my photo there. ;) I also know that no one actually knows how it works but if anyone who has a theory can steer me, that would be great. Thanks!
You should definitely make the PP with that many fav's. I don't think the date will change things but I'm not really sure how the PP fully works either (I'm not sure anyone is really).
It should be alright; I'd expect to see it show up tomorrow. The same thing just happened to one of my shots. I plugged a photo I took on the 5th into the 7th slot, and it only just showed up on the PP an hour ago. Personally, I wouldn't move it back to the earlier date... but then there's those mysterious monkeys... so you never really know! :) Fantastic shot BTW, a definite favorite!
Moving dates just might wipe out comments and favs. I wouldn't chance it. BTW, getting to the PP isn't just based on favs. Some participants need many more favs than others in order to get there. Good luck!
Loved your shot, Katie. Can't wait to see it up there. I think that the date change would be fine. I've done it and lost nothing. Not a repost, but just change the date.
@rvwalker Moving just the date does not affect comments or favs. I do know that the popular page only contains pictures from the last three days or so, so moving it backwards might negatively affect its chances ...
I managed to get one shot on pp much to my surprise and yes, delight. It had about 6 favs at the time. Another shot with 3 times the favs and views didn't. Not complaining, i was chuffed with the fav. I don't have a lot of self confidence as a snapper so seeing your image up there is very encouraging. There are so many wonderful images on here i certainly don't expect to get on pp but if i do again at some stage i will feel good about that!!
I have moved dates/albums and the comments and favs follow with the picture. I don't know how it affects the pp though. I don't think it would but I am just not sure.

Just an fyi if you ever make my same mistake. Apparently my pic did make the PP page this morning- I had an email at 5:45 this am saying it was up there. By 8:30,when I checked my email and got on to look, it was already gone LOL! So, make sure you get your dates right early on!!!! LOL!
