How do your photographs get onto the New Faces page?

Thank you for your quick response. However, I don't know if I fully understand the logic of it. If the New Faces page is to help you get followers and you need to score points to get on the New Faces page by how many comments and favourites you have. Did I understand that correctly?

How do you get your photos seen in the first place?
Regards

When I started out, I found the easier way to be seen was to view and comment on other's photos. Every now and then, one of my captures would show up on the New Faces page. Actually, I've never fully understood how any of us end up on the different pages! Hope this helps - have fun with the Project!

That's interesting I didn't know that - I never made the page (I probably didn't deserve it) and have now been here too long! I do think that it must be harder for newbies to get noticed the bigger the site is. A classic problem of scaling up.

I don't think that there is something that you can do personally to get on, but shoot good photos. To get followers, it helps to follow people and be a good commenter. I never made New Faces, but I kinda stunk when I started out on here. Good luck and welcome to 365!

Funny that it's so hard for you guys to make New Faces! I started in September 2013 and somehow almost half my pictures made it there :O ( http://365project.org/justaspark/tags/justaspark-nf) Some of these only have like one comment! :O
Hope that didn't sound arrogant - I just noticed that that's a bit strange...
I guess I can't add to what the others say - It helps to comment and follow people's work :)
Have fun with your project!

Welcome Pat! I don't want to sound cynical, but focus more on the aspect of photography that interests you most, tag your work and look for the same tags others used. As you develop a portfolio, make generous comments about the work of others, and you'll be noticed. Better, I think, to work quietly in the background without pressing for instant popularity. It will happen...stay with us awhile and you'll see...

@linnypinny @soseema @amandal @justaspark @Weezilou Thank you all for your advice and encouragement. I have a few followers that are supportive and I will continue with my project as it encourages me to get out and use my camera, which was the reason I joined this group in the first place.
Many thanks
Pat

@idbelucky
I've learned a lot here and doing this project has made me head outdoors so many times when I wouldn't have bothered if I didn't need a photo and in doing so I've seen some wonderful sights and taken some great photos! 365 is a great site to be part of in terms of encouragement and learning :)

Joe
From my observation it works on the same selection algorithms as Trending and/or PP do excepting with the added criteria that you must have signed up for the site within X time period, thus you are "new".

Hi Joe, looks like it is under 30 days to be a 'new face', as I have been here for 40 days I guess I am too old now. :-)

@idbelucky i don't think there is logic to any of it Pat - but yes under a month tends to be a new face - the best way if you want to be noticed and appear on pages etc... is to comment on others posts and enter competitions -and be active in the community - if you get involved you can get heaps out of it - enjoy

I find if you find people you like to follow, they will follow you. Not that I have that many myself, but its ok. I just want to take photos.
