I'm very keen to visit and photograph some of the dramatic winter scenery in Iceland, but would need a tour as I don't have anyone who is keen or knowledgeable enough to come with me. Has anyone any recommendations of companies/tours they've used and were they value for money? The ones I've looked at seem pretty expensive.I think Alison Tomlin who used to be on 365 went, she took some stunning images. Looking to go either November this year or early January 2017. Thanks in advance!
I know that the Golden Circle tour goes year round and hits many of the classic Iceland sights. Just do a quick google search to comparison shop. I did the tour in Oct a few years ago and it was stunning. About 3-4 hours long if I remember correctly. Also, when you head back to the airport, make sure to allow extra time to stop at the Blue Lagoon along the way (or you could go there after you arrive. It is on the way to the airport and most airport transfer companies stop there). Just an FYI...do not let your hair get wet. I went underwater a few times and it dried out my hair completely that I had to cut it because I got so many split ends.
Hi Jackie,
I have been to Iceland several times and you can't go wrong anywhere there. Perhaps and email to padlock365@hotmail.co.uk and I may be able to help more.
