Hi I'm a relative newbie.
I am having trouble following some discussion threads on my computer. On many posts, the discussion box is empty, but I can see the replies to discussion. If I check the discussion pages on my phone, I can see all of the information.
For ease of use, I prefer to check the discussion boards on my computer.
Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance
I have had a similar issue in the past but it was on my phone that I was battling to see the discussion. Looking on my computer was the only way I could view that specific discussion. If I remember correctly it only occurred with one specific discussion and not all of them. I don't think I did anything and I haven't had a problem since.
@salza Thanks Sally, I held off asking the question in the hope that it would resolve itself, but no such luck. It's happening with lots of the discussions.
@merrelyn guess I was lucky that it only seemed to be one specific discussion. I must agree that I would find it rather frustrating. Have you considered tagging Ross and seeing if he has an answer for you?
Never seen that, but I only ever use the site from a laptop / desktop, never from a tablet or mobile...
I tried it as a couple 'emulated' devices, but no problems there either. It's probably a layout issue with your screen size or mobile browser but hard to say for sure without being able to duplicate it.
@merrelyn Hi Merrelyn, I am a Software QA Analyst. Not sure if Ross has found the time to respond to you or not yet but I can probably help you with this. Would you like to take this discussion offline so we can trouble shoot it together?
We may even be able to capitalize on @4umfreak 's expertise after we have gathered all the necessary intel.
Once we have found resolution we can post it for everyone else moving forward.
@tracyleaoh That would be great Tracy. It's 5.30am here and I'm about to head out and won't be home until after 6pm. My email is merrelyn@westnet.com.au
@merrelyn Did you try another internet browser? The problem could be a browser extension like noscript, adblock or others. Otherwise it could be a corrupted browser profile. I have the same issue in my pc and this is the reason.
I found out the problem: the visualization is wrong when a custom font size is set.
On firefox the message is not visualized with a minimum font size from 15 px to 18 px.
Chrome has a different behaviour. The message is always visualized but in some cases it is narrowed in a column at the right.
This happens when the title of the discussion is long and it doesn't fit into the links row, where there are the other links "Discussions" and "Themes & Competitions".
If the title of the discussion is short you can use every font size without problem.
@merrelyn goodness! I have forgotten all about this. Marrelyn I am so sorry. You said you were going away so I thought to wait until you were back. My apologies.
This is what I often see on my laptop. If I scroll to the end of the missing discussion, I can see the replies.
I've had the same - quite often.

Let me know.

Hope this helps.
