Colorado fall color this year

After missing our Colorado fall trips for the past 5 years, my husband wants to try one more trip hopefully. We're open for dates and remember that in the past around the end of September was usually quite good. If anyone has knowledge of the Gunnison - Hotchkiss - Crested Butte area fall color as it progresses I'd so appreciate any updates. Don't want to miss it but don't want to go too early.

I believe that area peaks a little later - usually the first week of October. I just saw on the news how some trees are starting their change about a week earlier than last year due to our relatively rainless summer, so maybe it will be earlier down there too.
