Santa very kindly brought me a Lensbaby Trio for Christmas. I realise this will be a big learning curve for me. I was wondering if anyone else has one as I would love to be able to swop ideas and suggestions.
there are many people playing with lensbaby on this site, check out the tag http://365project.org/tags/lensbaby to connect with others @aprilmilani offers a month of lensbaby theme here a couple of times a year , she also teaches lensbaby through her own tutorials so follow her project and i am sure she will share some tips.
@thistle joyce! what a fab present! i want one. i also want a velvet 56. and a host of other things ;) do hope we can meet up soon so that i can see it in action :)
@aprilmilani Thank you so much April. I tried it out this afternoon and will post some shots here. Can't tell you how many went in the bin! I really would appreciate your comments. These were all shot on the 'sweet' setting as I need to learn the basics of each individually otherwise my ancient brain will seize up!
I wasn't bothered about the subject matter just trying out the lens.
@pistache Yes any time after about 13.15 I usually sneak into Waterstones or somewhere for a coffee. Let me know when you are around and we can meet somewhere.
@kali66 thanks for your help. As you can see, thanks to you April has already been in touch. I think this lens is going to be a challenge I shall enjoy!
@thistle It looks to me like you are getting your focus and letting the blur fall off beautifully. In order to help you could you let me know what you are struggling with. I would love to help.
Just realised I can't spell lensbaby! Have tried to alter the heading for this post but can't work out if it's possible. I really do appreciate your offer of help April. I'm just not sure where to go next. I think I'm beginning to get the hang of focus and DOF. With a fixed f3.5 you do need to move your own position to get the best focus. I just feel unsure of where to go next and what to try. Perhaps I need to find other subjects to practice on and leave the vegetation alone for a while. I don't have a willing victim for portraits but can always use my dogs. I feel there must be so much more I can do with this lens before I investigate the other two. Thank for the links it is great to see the amazing work of other lens baby users. I am tagging my pictures for the lens baby month. Thank you for your kindness.
