On 1 Photo 10 and Lightroom 6! I need help please.

I have downloaded a trial version of the above. Can anyone please tell me how to export my photo's directly to the 365 group! I do not have a clue what to do. I tried google, but they only mention social media! Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

If you have the photos in Lightroom, follow the same settings for a FB export here - https://digital-photography-school.com/how-to-size-and-export-images-from-lightroom-for-facebook-and-print/ - you need to export to a JPG & then upload to 365, you can not export directly from LR to to 365 in the same way as you can for FB.

In lightroom I use export (bottom left side of library page). In the dialog box I set my exports to go to my desktop ... they are JPEGs ... and I set the "long side" to 1024 as they are compressed here anyway and its a bit easier for me to send the smaller file. If I am posting to Flickr or 500PX I set my long side to 2048 as those sites accept that size. Then to get it to 365 I just drag and drop in my upload page. It doesn't clutter up my desktop, as I drag my posted photos to the trash unless it's of the granddaughters, in which case I have a folder on my desktop and I put the JPEGs there. Hmmm...just saw the "publish" option that includes Flickr and 500PX but nothing for 365. That's OK ... I've done the "export to desktop" for years now and I'm slow to change. Hope this helps!

@aecasey Thanks so much for your detailed response! I have a few more questions if I may? When I open the folder there are still some settings to be done e.g. width-height; pixels inch or cm; pixel size and quality. Would be great if you could please help there as well! Thanks a lot 😊

For my settings I use Export to Desktop, File naming I use a custom name which I put in each time, ... my file settings are to JPEG, sRGB and my quality is at 70 . Under Image Settings I check "resize to fit" Long Edge at 1024 pixels and Resolution at 240 pixels per inch and I sharpen for screen. Those are the settings I use for 365. I remember using these settings after some discussions on 365 about photo sizes, one of which you can find here: http://365project.org/discuss/general/26933/optimising-file-sizes-for-posting-to-365
I did not download the preset. I just set my lightroom export once myself and it remembers my settings.

I liked this walk through on the export for lightroom if you want some visual help with the steps: https://photographylife.com/how-to-properly-resize-images-in-lightroom/

@aecasey Thanks ever so much April, it was a battle to get there, but I finally did! It is all so new and complicated. I am not sure if I like the idea of Catalogues and not having a save button though. My trial is over in 4 days so I need to see some more video's to get into it. Thanks a bunch for your help 💐

I am still hoping Claude Trew can tell me how to export using On 1 photo 10. After that I will make my choice ( or stick to my cell) 😊

@ludwigsdiana I'm not very experienced with the catalogues, but I do know that when my computer crashed I was terrified I'd lost all my photos and lightroom edits. Thankfully because of regular backups I was able to find all my photos as well as all my edited lightroom work so when I wanted to find some to print I did not have to re-edit at all. I also like that lightroom doesn't alter the original RAW file, so I can re-edit another way if I want to, but I really like that it keeps my edits as I left them so I don't have to start over if something gets lost.

I so much appreciate the help! At least it got me started. The catalogues I will still have a battle with. Can I convert all my albums to catalogues? That would be so easy to handle then. Is there maybe a tutorial about catalogues? Is only the edited work in a catalogue?

@ludwigsdiana As I understand it, the catalog just tells lightroom where to find the RAW photo and saves your editing instructions and the photos metadata. You actual photos are not stored in a lightroom catalog. They are stored elsewhere ... some people store them on external drives, some in the cloud. I didn't give a lot of forethought to how I set things up, so mine are all on my hard drive. As a Mac user my photographs are all in the "pictures" folder on my hard drive. Lightroom just goes there to look at the photo that I want to work on. After I work on it the photo is still saved in the "pictures" folder on my computer's hard drive, but the editing and metadata are stored in my lightroom catalog. I only have one catalog. I am not very good at sorting and filing, so my set up is really simple .... probably too simple but I am comfortable with it.

Here are two links to articles I found talking about Lightroom catalogs. You might see if they help any. Good luck! https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/help/lightroom-catalog-basics.html https://digital-photography-school.com/understanding-the-lightroom-catalog-and-file-management-system/
