how often do you get to the evening and think oh no i havent taken a shot ?
tonight was the second time its happened to me since i started my 365 project , its not that theres no ideas more a case of busy day ! with 3 kiddos its not easy to always lug the camera around with me :(
anyhow, is it just me that has a last min panic or do more people experience this ?
luckily both times have turned out ok but i think i need to have a back up list for days like today now !
Its happening to Me alot and Im only on Day 11, Last night it was nearly Midnight and I hadn't taken A Photo, I kept grabbing random Items and taking Photos but pressing delete, was determined not to give up, got the Flower in the end, Today I took the Camera out on the School Run and was hoping to get some shots on the way home but the youngest 2 got fed up and the oldest 2 both decided they needed the toilet, maybe jumping in puddles was to blame plus I was carrying their School bags and pushing the Buggy so I did a couple of shots of a metal fence, Changed one to black and white, changed the contrast slightly, added vignette and added it, I dont feel that Im spending the time I'd like to get a good Photo as Im so busy but its fun and I am glad I joined 365 :)
Last year I had 3 fillers in my project I believer, having missed the day. But normally when I'm stretched to the last minute, I just snap a pic of anything, or a quick self portrait. Not every day can be brilliant :-D We all still need to enjoy our 365 in the end.
It just happened to me yesterday, actually. My days are taken up by running back and forth between class and work ( I work on campus ). Most days I try and take a photo on my way home, or during lunch. But on days that I just can't seem to find the time (which lately has been almost every other day) I check out Dailyshoot.com and see what I can come up with around the house. That way, it makes me feel a bit less awful about the last minute photo because I know others have taken the time to do similar shots as my plan Z.
it used to happen all the time, but as this project has wore on I have got better at planning ahead and ensuring it happens less so. It still happens though - my shot from 13 Jan is a prime example!
It was kinda bad at first, but now I'm use to it... until last night. I was trying to fall asleep and remembered at 10.30p I didn't take a photo so I got out of bed and grabbed the first thing I saw and photographed it... I didn't have my glasses or contacts, so I'm sure it's bad (didn't get it off the card yet)
This happened to me today, and yes it has happened many times before! Today, however, I was at the pub with some mates who helped me out! I said I didn't have a picture.. so they set up a whole load of different shots for me, involving Greg and alcohol, Greg and pub snacks.. even rolling him his own tiny cigarette! (photos are in an album of Greg's Outtakes on my facebook.. I am thinking I need to put them somewhere on the internet so everyone can see?)
Also, I have a long list of photos I can take/set up etc just in case I don't get a good opportunity! :)
Much more often for me these days because my "good" camera is too big to carry around in my purse so not only are my pics taken later in the day, they're all taken in the house...gonna get out tomorrow
I usually have a shot but there is always a point in the day where I go "what am I going to use for my 365?" because I can only post so many shots of my sons/dogs/doorknobs before I get kicked off this site I am sure lol
Definitely...I usually post in the evening which can turn into a bad habit because it's very easy to accidentally skip a day...But at the same time I don't want to post in the morning either, because something might come along during the day that I might want to use instead!
I would say...about 1/3rd of the time...I clicked my camera 2 times today and decided to go with the first one.....you will know it was a really bad day if you ever see a pic of my ceiling fan, lol!
I just started a week ago and am still trying to get into the 'groove' of the exercise. It's been great because I'm thinking about the image (any image :) all the time.
when you have a lot on your hands, it can be difficult and more so if your project involves a specific theme. but if you don't have a specific theme going on your project, you can a picture of anything around your home. i had a project which i started in february last year at blogspot and one time i forgot to take a picture, my husband happened to have gone grocery shopping and the cheese dip was on sale so he bought two jars, and those two jars ended up as my photo of the day.
@vikdaddy that's not a bad picture. in fact if you look closely, the right glove seems to depict a face. did you notice that?
so far (touch wood) I have been able to get the shot and get it onto 365 on the day, and all outside. I have a few things inside that I may be able to use as a "last resort" if the outside shot doesn't work, especially as the days will soon be getting shorter.
I sometimes think that I have got "the" shot and then think "I'll put the camera away now" only to see something cool and say "Where were you tomorrow?"
that happens to me all the time. but for me, that's the beauty (and fun!) of this 365 project. it forces me to shoot mundane things in an interesting way.

I'm a bad procrastinator... so this happens way too much for me. :)
