Photos from previous days.

Most of my photos are from the day before or the day before that. Is this bad?? Does it really matter?? I don't think it does, just wondering what y'alls opinion was?

@beautyfly2010 The project is what you want it to be. While many are taking pictures daily, not everyone can post right away. I don't always get a chance to post or take a picture, so I dig back and find something. You can interpret your project any way you like.

Your project, your rules. What's important is to have fun and not to stress out yourself in keeping up the daily uploads. It's your personal journey, do what pleases you.

Enjoy! :-)

@emsabh Thats what I think too. I do take a photo everyday and I do post a photo everyday, Its just not always the same photo. I was just curious what some of the other users thought.

The projects that don't quite feel 'in the spirit of things' to me are where people are regularly posting up the very best photos they've ever taken in the past. I could do that - I've got some great pics I've taken over recent years - but I post those elsewhere, not on 365.

For me the unique, interesting and challenging aspect of the 365 project is to find something to take a photo of every day. Not just the exciting, eventful days, but the normal, routine, everyday days. I may not post them the same day but the photo I post against a particular date is a photo I've take on that date.

I do accept there may be times when I might put the occasional 'filler' shot - I've only been going for 4 weeks so far - but I would want that to be an exception, rather than the norm.

It's your choice what you do. There are plenty of people sharing pictures that have dates taken several years back on a regular basis. I'm not sure what the purpose of that is but who am I to judge someone elses project.

The question you should ask yourself is why are you doing this? We all get busy and having pictures to fill in with is super helpful during those times but personally I carry my camera everyday with the purpose of taking pictures daily. So, even if I have a fill-in, it's gonna be a recently taken picture.

Although I have been toying with the idea of posting a weekly older film photo. Updated of course with todays editing available to me. I've got so many envelopes with photos and I'd like to have an opportunity to get them converted to digital and add them into my project. Hmmm .....

I've been wondering about this myself - so far each photo I've posted was actually been taken on the day it's been posted, but we have been going through an unusually long period of grey days and I'm starting to struggle, just a bit of sun would make all the difference!

Nod
I make a rule to shot only on that day and only for that day. Just to make it more fun for me..at the last minute I can always use the bathroom mirror to record myself!

You make it what you want it to be. What makes you happy and what works for you. My approach is this. I take photos every day and when I can get to a computer - I load up matching photos with dates. I only started on 365project on the 9th of Jan so used some fillers 1-8 to start ... but from then on - date matches photo. I do this because it teaches me to look at each day, every moment, every thing, every person, every shadow, every texture, every colour etc IN DETAIL (my blinkers are off). It's obviously easier to have a 'library' of fillers - of posting near perfect pics each day - but then, for me, what's the point? If it's 11:30pm and I haven't yet taken a pic - then I run around the house or garden in the dark in my pajamas and still take something. It's not really what you shoot - it's how you see it - and how you capture it, that makes it interesting.
Last year I did my own 365 + haiku not knowing about this website - I thought, at the time, I was being totally original (haha). When I look back at my blog from 1st Jan to 31 Dec 2010 I know everything about each day - it's like a diary without words. Fillers won't give me that luxury. Also the mix of super duper pics versus not so good ones - only confirms that I'm human. Not every day is filled with excitement. This year I'm hoping just to improve along my journey and have fun along the way and follow others doing the same. May your journey be magical too.

my personal rules are the photo for the day has to have been taken or edited on that day, if it's an edited one,i have to have taken it within a few days of the date i post it

Sometimes I do .... but I also often plus or minus a day or two (or three). If it's within my immediate week then I am happy. For me, I want it to be current and reflective of what's happening in my little world. That being said, I do snap something everyday despite not being that precise on matching up dates in my 365 project.

@kalexa @sallycheese @viranod @mackinart @dmortega @sarahhorsfall @bugik @thebluegnu Thanks for your response everyone! I really enjoy this site, and I like the diversity of "artist" on here. The next 11 months are gonna be fun!!!

I try to post mine with in a day or two of taking them. Sometimes I don't have time to upload every day. t do TRY to take pics every day, But sometimes I might have two photos taken on the same day that I want upload and other days I might not get any good shots on a certain day. I think as long as you aren't entering them in the contests it's up to you what you do.
