i had an idea that involved paint so i used the kids paints in the kitchen .... the 3 year old was happily watching until he decided to stand in the paint and walk it over the kitchen floor !! i cleaned his feet up and he went off to play with his bro , i didnt instantly stress about the floor as it was kids paints i thought it would wash off so finished what i was doing first.
the problem is the red & yellow are just not coming off so ive trashed the floor :( ..... even worse , im not convinced i got the shot i wanted anyway so its probably all for nothing lol !
I can so easily see something like this happening with my little one...its already happened with chocolate - which can get pretty close to paint!!
Have you tried those magic erasers?? Those things rock! Hope you can get it off the floor!
Hmmm I think I may have.. I have already ruined several pairs of jeans and a pair of very nice boots by crawling around in mud, or running around on the beach and climbing over rocks and things, or climbing up trees or lying in roads..
Also, I know it isn't exactly 'trashing' as such, but it certainly was stupid..
Straight after, and as a direct result of, taking this photo, I succeeded in getting my car stuck in a field for a couple of hours (you know in films, when they get a car stuck in mud and the wheels are spinning round and round and mud is going absolutely everywhere and it's really funny? I was doing that for a while before I realised that it just wasn't helping.) and in the end had to phone the AA and get towed out. The things we do for photography, eh? :P
No trashing yet but I did have some accidents while photographing. My one year old fell off the sofa while I was trying to photograph her but got destracted by my camera settings. Not my best parenting moment...
Another time I missed my train to work due to the flow I was in while trying to take a complicated shot on the platform. This was the result:
was doing a really cute beach shoot with 2 sisters, and they decided to go in the water and trash their pretty dresses!
lucky mum wasnt too worried, and happy with the photos we got as a result
@halkia Worth it...well...the train picture anyway.....haha....I won't comment on the "bad parenting" situation....just kidding....it happens to all of us! :)
@kathyd speaking of bad parenting, lol, these waves look heaps bigger than they were, timed it just when they'd crashed so they look heaps bigger.
also this wasnt the worst of the trashing, they both ended up falling into the water and sand, very cute though :)
well todays nightmare brought 2 okish shots in the end so i guess ill live with the paint stained floor until fella gets home from work and hopefully he will shift it ! lol
@flamez Yep! A few weeks ago I had an Idea, Glass Bowl, Light and some Plastic Coloured Balls, I was using the Bulb from the Lava Lamp, First I dropped and smashed the Glass Bowl then I melted a Ball as it was too close to the Bulb! Oops. That shot is fantastic, Hope the floor stain comes off.
@flamez lol. Oh my. Did you at least get his painted feet walking on the floor! That would have been a fun shot. I try to avoid destroying things I take pictures of. ;-)
I haven't ruined anything personally, but I have a cat who is very drawn to bright light bulbs, and every time I use my extra lamp that clips on to the counter to light a shoot, she walks up to it and melts her whiskers. Right now they're all melted with little nubs on the end. Kind of funny and sad at the same time.
I haven't taken the time to read all of the above responses, so forgive me if I repeat a suggestion someone else has given. You might try a couple of things: toothpaste will often take out things when other things fail. Or have to tried a magic eraser? I find that will out just about anything I throw at it. And if neither of those works...you've got a great discussion starter when your friends come over for a visit. Oh, by the way, that was a FUN picture for the participants and for anyone who views it! Thanks for taking a risk in the name of art!
@petersonsheri Go through your house and pick something that just speaks as "you!" I was trying to find something in your photos (Left a comment on your selfie! It's gorgeous!)

This is the photo that caused the problems:
