During the lockdown I am thoroughly enjoying myself watching films about photography and photographers on Youtube and Vimeo, as well as downloading from other sites. The major benefit is, of course, that I am learning a lot! So, how about folk recommending such videos and films? I will start off with two I have particularly enjoyed (not in any particular order):
1) The Salt of the Earth. A beautiful film about the great Sebastião Salgado. I downloaded it from iTunes but also available elsewhere.
2) Canon - Sir Don McCullin In Kolkata. ( https://vimeo.com/242906778) Although a Canon sponsored film this really is a fascinating insight into the way the master that the master Don McCullin works.
3) The Many Lives of William Klein ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnN9LMvjM7Y). A most interesting film on the influential Klein and his different areas of interest.
Thank you for this post- I needed to get lost in a bit of history about photography- I went to Amazon and clicked on this ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B00NF1JRQY/ref=atv_dp_b07_det_c_UTPsmN_1_9 )- about Jini Dellaccio. I never had heard of her but am very inspired by here approach that she had employed over her life and career.
Monk with a Camera: The Life and Journey of Nicholas Vreeland is a 2014 American feature-length documentary film directed by Guido Santi and Tina Mascara. The subject of this biographical film is Nicholas Vreeland, an American who is a Tibetan Buddhist monk, and also a photographer.
