Interesting article, I wasn't aware that "new tech makes mirrorless cameras unstoppable."

it was just a matter of time.

Sad change but if they continue to make adapters then I'll deal.

I'm sure we all remember decades ago when we used to listen to music on 8 track, vinyl, cassette,cd’s… and now it's all streaming and downloading but we still dances and sing-a- long🎶💃🕺
**technology change so quickly nowadays, what's sad is all these expensive gadgets, they don't have resale price value, just stick to what you have right now don't be victim of consumerism.. Invest in your health!!
Sorry, IDK why I'm talking too much, I think my Xnx is kicking in..jk 🤣🥰😘
TY Krista for the info👌

@joemuli very perspective and wise.

I made the switch to mirrorless about 3.5 years ago, and have never looked back. My biggest concerns at the time were battery life and the “virtual” viewfinder. But I’ve not had an issue with either.

I figure it’s just the natural progression of technology. I remember not so long ago when most folk were saying the digital would never supplant film…

@joemuli you will never improve the sound of vinyl, I just bought a new release sound track on vinyl and the difference is obvious ... ok off my high horse

Undoubtedly, the improvement in technology is bringing enormous benefits. But what about when you start to feel the lack of the "click" of the mirror, of feeling the lens supported in the hand, even the lack of the weight of a DSLR!?
We will probably soon see the used DSLR market gain even more prominence (and it's already high).
Yes, a few more years and the children of today, when they are adults, will no longer understand the pleasure of shooting with a DSLR. And it's already thinking about that future that brands like NIkon and Canon take this option.

I dipped my toe in mirrorless in 2014 with a Sony a6000 as a second camera. Then in January 2016 I jumped right in and traded my Canon DSLR in for a Sony 7R2 and I haven't looked back. For me, with small hands and the beginning of arthritis, the smaller size was a real bonus. It has been a bit of a hassle, working through an adapter to use my collection of Canon lenses, but it's doable and I have slowly been adding Sony e-mount lenses to my equipment.
