So this post is NOT photography related at all- ok disclaimer done. I just had to share my excitement with a group of people that are always so supportive- I have just landed my first HEAD coaching job!! Thats right- I have been given the head coaching position for a Pop Warner cheerleading squad, and I'm so very excited :D For those of you that haven't heard of Pop Warner- it is a youth organization that focuses on fostering a relationship between scholastics and sports. They have football teams, cheerleading squads, and dance teams, participants range from age 5-15. I have coached for several years, but always as an assistant coach. Our season doesn't start until August, but you can bet that I'm already hard at work preparing a competition routine, sideline chants, and picking out new uniforms :D Not sure why I felt the need to share with you all, but there you have it LOL!! Go GENERALS!!! :D
@bradsworld I really hope to share some shots with you all, however I will have to get the ok from BPW and parents, as Pop Warner has very strict rules regarding posting photos of the kiddos online.
@bradsworld I will certainly try capturing some nice shots (cleats on turf is a fantastic idea)- I just have to be super careful not to break Pop Warner rules LOL. I don't want to be labeled the rebel coach (well at least not in my first year)
Coaching kids is awesome! I have been coaching 9-17 year olds in rowing for the past 15 years, still loving it.
Good job on making it to head coach, congrats! I am sure you will be very good at it reading how much enthusiasm you have for it. Most important asset for a good coach, endless enthusiasm :-)
Congratulations Rebecca, here is a link to something my daughter's coach did before their 1st cheerleading comp. http://365project.org/lynne3804/365/2010-07-01
