How interesting! I've been wondering the same thing, Allison! I guess you can count all the 'by day" photos, but not everybody posts every day, so it might not be very exact...
Ross will be able to tell us. There is a thread from a while ago giving the number of members at that time and the breakdown of where they come from. Given that he's in the UK and its currently 5am there (I think) it might be a few hours before we hear from him ;-)
Home is in Fountain Valley, CA (Orange Cty)...I'm sitting at my daughter's presently in Chicago, and tomorrow I'll land in Nova Scotia where I'll be for the next four months... Makes for lots of variety in my photo ops!
'Home' is New Zealand- nowhere in particular anymore as where we used to live we will not go back to and where my parents now live I have only ever visited. I live in Phnom Penh Cambodia at the moment and travel quite a bit. Tomorrow we go to Singapore for a long weekend (altho J has to work).
I'm from Keswick Ontario about 1 hours drive north of Toronto Canada and I know of one more just a little less North of Toronto close to where i live Rainee Paz from Newmarket Ontario

If someone looks at your 365photo but is not a registered member of 365, does it still show up as a count on your views. I know I have family/friends who are not members but look at my photos.
So we're no wiser (yet) but it's fun to see who checks in.... and I'm from Northern Ireland, UK.... so far have managed to post a picture every day this year!!
My guess is 1300 active members, and around 3500 registrations.
I browsed through the calender and found an interesting pattern. It seems we get a lot of new people at the first of each month.

With the Ace memberships, some people could be posting multiple photos for a day, but I'm sure just as many people missed the day, so it probably balances out.
If the site captured the IP address you used to register - they should be able to get a rough geographic breakdown of the members, but I'm guessing the admins probably have better things to do than to parse the log files for our curiosity.

We have over 10,000 registered members, about 3000 of which are active, seems there are a fair few members who have signed up and don't upload, just post comments on friends photos etc.
We have over 200,000 uploaded photos right now, which I think is pretty amazing, thanks so much everyone!
Those of you doing the maths now will have figured that most people only average ~20 photos of there project! The likelihood of completing your project goes up substantially if you complete over 35 days. So if you've made it that far, well done!
Josh's insights into 1st of the month is something I've not noticed myself, but a great observation.

I may be your oldest member. I am 70 years old. My daughter is a member and got me interested in the 365 project too. I live in Victoria, Texas, but raised in New Ulm, Minn, met, married my husband and raised our kids in Orange, California
The different geological locations of the people of 365 is certainly interesting! I live in a small town in Tennessee, but I work in Georgia, and do a lot of shopping in North Carolina. I live about 10-15 minutes from both the GA & NC lines.
I am one very active member (not as active as our dear Louise but still...) and thrilled to have my ace membership! I know I am just a blip on the radar but I love the circle of friends I have surrounded myself with here and feel very fortunate to be a part of this community. And I just broke 100 photos the other day so I am sure I will be able to finish the project. Oh, and I am in Rancho Cordova, CA (Sacramento). =D
I go to school near Dallas TX, but my home is Fredericksburg, VA, which I go back to all the time. I like to count Fredericksburg as a part of Northern Virginia.
Ross.... that is interesting and I can imagine your amusement at the discussions that happen here!! So far my personal challenge to do one picture a day has worked..... I love finding out where people come from.

Seems we need to get 365 to be more popular in Europe! :) Also thanks for letting me know that I'm on good track of completing this project - I was wondering where it might still become an issue and I'm glad to see that at least in terms of statistics it's not that likely! Very soothing!
I'm from North of Scotland originally but lived in Perth Australia for last 2 years. I started on 11th Jan, sometimes there are long gaps between me uploading photos but I do take photos every day and am loving the community :)
And I can spend hours just browsing through all the photos here!

just good old grand rapids michigan here. keeping it real since jan 1, so far. fighting strep (and so far, losing) this weekend, but i think i'll have the strength to lift the camera!

I attempted from April 1st but my lens freaked out by April 3rd for some reason and had to replace the camera and start all over again.

I;m from Newcastle Autralia but also spend a fair amount of time in Sydney. There appear to be quite a few members fromNewie, Sydney and the adjacent central cost (Norht of Sydney). Love the site and enjoy the discipline of trying to get one passable pic a day.
I'm in Brookline, Massachusetts. I also find it fascinating where people are from and wonder if the audience might be bigger than those who are registered. I bring two passive viewers myself, my parents, both in their 90's. They love seeing the pictures Rachel, Becky and Matt post. Do others bring passive viewers to the site?
I know that some Finnish people in Postcrossing -community (site for exchanging postcards) look at these pictures from time to time - and well, couple of them have joined too.
I'm from right smack in the middle of the U.S. in St. Louis, Missouri. This is awesome! I had no idea I was admiring the pictures from people in so may different countries.
