I found an awesome and easy website creator that is perfect for creating incredible-looking photography websites! It can be found at http://www.wix.com. The basic version is free (although it does contain small, unobtrusive ads for Wix) but can be upgraded for a price later on. It is simple to create, edit, and publish. Here is my site if you're interested in seeing if this is something you might be want to do to showcase your work. Please keep in mind that my site is still a work in progress.
Great looking website... Maybe it is just the computer I'm on right now but the images looked fuzzy. Not like it was that way when you took them, but that the website did it. If I selected an image from any of your galleries, and it opened in a new "window" it was fine but any that displayed in the player on the actual webpage were fuzzy. I'm going to check it out again when I get home to see if it is my work computer or not...just wanted to let you know.
Yeah, they look a bit "fuzzy" or like you softened them quite a bit. I have a site through wix and I didn't have this issue, but maybe it was the template you chose? I have no idea.
So I went back and took a look at home. Unfortunately it was fuzzy there too. The landscapes were all fine, except the b&w cows...seemed fuzzy but I can't tell if that was because of the processing or not. I don't know much about internet or computer stuff, maybe the photos were saved differently? It seems the HDR ones are all ok, but the others are fuzzy? Maybe it is how they were saved or how the server hosting the website interprets the photos? For what it's worth I was viewing them in Internet Explorer both at work and home.
I checked in Google Chrome (on the same home computer) and they seemed a lot better. The thumbnails and main photo were still fuzzy (like IE) on your portraits page but the thumnails came out sharp when I clicked on them (like IE). The other pages though seemed better in Chrome, both the page photo and thumbnails.
I think the fizziness is in the processing. Some of my photos have been softened to give them a "watercolor painting" look. I could switch them out if you all think that would be better. @shadesofgrey@lacedxxoo@shutterbugger@blightygal
@dejongdd I looked through your album and they shots on here don't seem as soft. The sight might be adding a bit of "fuzz". Why not, for the site, switch them out or have another link (flickr?) so people can see? Or maybe try another template? Just ideas. Beautiful work though.
@shadesofgrey@blightygal@lacedxxoo@pawsalmighty@lacedxxoo@toast I redid my website. Can you see if these images are clearer? If not, it could be the fact that I'm using the free version. Also, please remember that it is a work in progress. I haven't completed the "Portfolio" galleries so most of them will appear blank. Thanks for your input.
I just went back there and wow, what a difference. I can tell the photos that you meant to have the watercolor look versus the others. I think that this will work great for you! Everything looks A-ok to me.
You could be right! @dejongdd I checked on my OH's computer which has a better resolution, and it was better - some were a little soft, but over all miles better :-) My mac is very old.... sorry if I made you check too much!
