Sports Photography

Two of my cousins are playing head-to-head tomorrow in an important football game. I would love to see your sports action shots and love suggestions on how to take good ones.

@shadesofgrey :)

Highest ISO, widest aperture setting, fastest shutter speed, longest lens you have. 200mm is great with f/2.8 but most people don't have that. If you have a 300mm with f/5ish you can get some good shots. Might have to adjust exposure a bit in post process if the field isn't well-lit.

A sport's photographer told me to use as high as ISO as I could without the grain, shoot in AI SERVO, get as close to the action as possible, use a high shutterspeed and an f stop number of around f8. I use this advice to get my son's sports photos. Have fun at the game!
