I saw the recent thread about ghost shots (long exposure shots where you stand in frame for part of the time to leave a faint, ghostly appearance) and, even though I've never tried to shoot one myself, I thought it would be fun to have a haunted ghost challenge this month to see what sort of spooky, eerie, long-exposure ghost shots you all can come up with as Halloween nears. Any interest out there?
If so, please take your shots between October 8 and October 22nd, tag them ghost-challenge, and then I will pick five for a vote, with the winner to be announced by Halloween.
Hope you all are feeling spooky! :)
Here's the prior discussion thread, which includes some helpful how-to resources and examples:

a multiple exposure shot will work, too, and will avoid the blur in/blur out effect as you enter/exit the frame. 2 exposures (with autogain) will get you 50% transparent, or go for 3 exposures to get 66% or 33% transparency (for 1 or 2 self-shot exposures, respectively).
Ah, almost forgot this point... Your relative white value compared to your surroundings directly impacts your 'transparency'. With black clothes (relative to background), you disappear. With white, you stand out. Think of it as additive exposure values. You can always drop your exposure value in one of the shots... Increase/decrease your EV exposure conpensation between exposures, or bracket 2 shots. It's easier if your combining in post, but bracketing should help in camera.
@cameronknowlton that makes sense. I had another where my son was backlit by window light so the white sheet was less of a contrast and almost invisible. Will have to play around. Thx again for the tips.
@rockinrobyn Hi Robyn, Im trying to figure out if im supposed to pick or start another challenge this is the first time Ive ever participated in one of these out of 2 years. Thanks.
@shortperson2002 Those are pretty good statistics to play once and win! :) I just started this challenge out of the blue; it's not part of an ongoing theme. I'm so glad you participated in it, though. Your photo was awesome!
