Well, I was quite surprised and humbled to have my picture chosen as the winner for the last WWYD contest - it was the first time I entered anything like that, and I really didn't expect to even be on the radar, so thanks to everyone who voted for me!
So here's the image to edit for the next challenge! First, the rules: [click here to get the large version]
-Save the enlarged version of the photo below from here onto your computer and edit it in absolutely any way you'd like! You can use any editing program you like --- (free) such as Picmonkey, or (commercial) Paintshop, and create any edited version that you can think of.
-Post the edited image into one of your 365 albums.
- TAG your PHOTO “WWYD70” in the tag section when you upload it.
-Remember that posting your photo in this discussion is OPTIONAL. :)
-To load your image to this discussion thread, go to your photo, on the righthand side where it says "share" highlight the copy & paste code that is in the box, copy it and then paste it here in your reply.
-Multiple entries are fine. Feel free to post here and ask for any extra information if you have not participated previously.
The challenge starts today, 11/26 and ends on Monday, 12/3. I will then announce the finalists for voting.
@butrfli Dana, if on a Mac, right-click on the image and you have several options (Add image to iPhoto library, copy image, or download). If on a Windows system you can essentially do the same thing.
@butrfli Hi Dana, click on the image & it will take you to Johns original posting. On the right hand side of the page go to "Sizes" and click "View all" scroll down to "large" and paste the url http://static.365project.org/1/3532605_ntvxyz2345_l.jpg into a browser . ...right click & save image as.. ...or ....view enlarged from John's page & right click & save image as..
both seem to give same image sizes - 1024 x 682 in this instance.
Thanks for all the helpful comments. I updated the rules to reflect the new tag.
I'm not sure why the image is uploading so small though. 365 must resize pictures because it's quite a bit larger than that on my computer. Maybe because I don't have ace status?
Anyway, editing works on a picture of any size, so it will work either way. :)
Edit: following the directions on the WWYD69 image, I don't see the "Original" option. I suppose that is only available to ace members, and also I can only post up to the "Large" size.
I've put my photo on flickr and it is now available up to 2048x1365, for those of you who would like to work on a larger image. The link is here: photo.
@ltodd thx for explanation!! i got it and did the edit below. However, i'm bummed i didnt work with the larger image which i now see Jonathan just posted. well, i have a week to try it again :-)
Great pictures, everyone! I can see it will be hard to choose the finalists...
I've updated the main post to include a link to my larger image - it seems like some of you are still using the one from 365 - sorry about that! There is now a link on the original picture on my profile, as well as in the original post at the top here, and in my first reply to this post. Hope everyone can get that one and use it! Again apologies for the confusion!
I realize this has become more of a challenge to see who has the best photoshop trick skills lately, and I could have gone that route, but the more I looked at the original image, the more I felt it would be a disservice to the landscape... what I did notice is that there was a vintage vibe to the landscape but not a vintage look - so that's what inspired my entry... I wanted to make it look like an old photograph from a scrapbook
All I might do with this is crop it on top. I think the original image is quite OK. Sorry, I do not really appreciate much of the photoshopping i see here.
All your pictures look great!
Just to give you a heads up, I'm moving today, so I may not get to announce the finalists till this evening sometime or possibly tomorrow morning. I didn't know when I started this challenge that today would be moving day :P
I apologize for the delay, and I'll try to get it done as soon as I can!
