@anwan and I picked Framing as the element of composition to concentrate on. We are making this a one-month-in-two thing; due to travel and other commitments, it will be difficult to do the theme every day, so we are committing to do 30 pictures for the theme during the two months. Hope that makes sense.
You are welcome to join us! Tag your photos with jj-framing. If you'd like, post them here. Also, if you see someone else's photo from the tag page and really like it go ahead and post that here too.
I'd like to join in too but perhaps not with as many shots as you are aiming for. Would you count this as framing? or as the frame is the bars of the pet carrier is it part of the main subject? Taken today before I read your theme - what a coincidence.
This is a street shot I took couple days ago. I really like the examples on the link you posted. Thank you very much for sharing that site. I am a big fan of this particular composition technique. It really emphasizes the subject without any external props or vignettes etc.
@effigy Hi Anne, just tag your photo jj-framing. Then click on the tag to see other photos with the same tag. You can post you pictures here too, but the tag is most important.

Ok! I'm a fan of framing. I saw the challenge and suddenly no frames in sight! :) Anyway, here's a sliver of a frame from this evenings fun with the family.
So to participate I need to do framing with 30 photos or can I submit just one or a few? Just need some clarification. Commiting to 30 is a bit much for me to bite off.
@amandal hi Amanda, the original concept of the monthly composition theme was to incorporate it into every picture for a month, but just like not everyone takes a picture every day, the rules are what you make them. I find that thinking about the theme all the time for a month does help me explore it, but if one day I don't succeed, I don't stress about it. The important thing is to be on the lookout for good framing opportunities, and then try to take a good picture.
@danielwsc I'm certainly not doing it every day :D I do find myself looking for frames all the time though, and getting some very funny looks in the process...
@annemary very nice Anne Mary. Might I make a suggestion? Crop right to the outside edges of the vertical frames so they make a border to the picture. I think that will add some impact.
@danielwsc Thanks, Daniel. I tried blocking to the vertical with my hand and it is better. @twistergirl Daniel's idea would make it even more like a tryptic.
This is an environmental portrait of a garland seller in front of a Hindu temple. I thought the things she is selling are arranged in a way that framed her nicely.
HOW do I take part? Do I post here? If so how.
