the word i have chosen for you is:
gravigrade - (a) walking with heavy steps; (n) an animal that walks heavily*
Oh! I saw something perfect for this the other day! A little girl, maybe three years old, was prancing around outside in what I guess were her mother's shoes. She looked an absolute riot, and it would have made a great photo, but alas... no camera! D:
@olivetreeann - also, i checked my big oxford that's 12 years old and the word isn't there. nor could i find it anywhere on the internet. so that's the best definition i can give you. i got the word off a really old "the king's English dictionary" which belonged to partner's mother, one of the stuff i rescued from the farm house.
Couldn't wait until Wednesday- with all the catching up I have to do I was afraid I'd forget I took it already! So here's my "Graciously Greeting Gravigrades". @summerfield
@summerfield ;0) I am still trying to think of something to take. I tool pics of teensy buggies in Queen Anne's Lace today....total opposite of Gravigrade. More like Aerograde or some such. Haha
@olivetreeann - ann, you can take a photo any time, as long as you post it on the 12th so maybe re-post this on wednesday or change the posting date to the 12th. up to you. but that is so apropos for the word. i had the elephants in mind, too, for this.
