Hi all - so as today marks the start of the official Breat Cancer Awareness for the month of October, my day's shot is in honor of spreading the word, and Rebbecca, Katie and Emileigh have said they wanted to do the same. So what better way than to bring it here and see who else wants to join in?
@glyn If you're not uploading directly onto here (in which case you could use the Share code provided) then you can try Tinypic.com or Photobucket, even, to upload and paste the HTML code beside the picture.
@indiannie_jones i also do not know how to post on this page, and im afraid i still dont know, sorry, we need a share code? i just upload on my own page? sorry for bugging you, i am not very pc literate.
@cookie123 No need to apologize! It'd be great if you uploaded as your shot for the day and then copied the code on the right side of the page that says Share Code and paste it here :)
^ With your mouse, click in that "Share* box, and then hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard, as well as the C at the same time. When you get here, hold down the Ctrl key again and then V instead of C (whilst still holding down Ctrl) and that'll paste that code here. When you click on 'post' the picture will come up.
My dear friend Sonja was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after her 40th birthday - she is inspirational in the way she coped with it, has overcome it, she has written a book about her cancer journey and she (with a group of friends) raised in excess of £150K for cancer research.
This photo was from the day her book arrived - I devoured it in a weekend, many tears and laughs later and my friends are now reading her book too.
i was diagnosed with breast cancer in Aug 2007, and underwent 2 mastectomies.
Fortunately the cancer hadn't spread to my lymph nodes, so I didn't require chemo or radiation.
I've had to take an anti-cancer drug for 3 years now ( 2 more years to go) which has made my hair fall out, anyway, and gives me more headaches, so I can only tolerate half a dose a day.
Just a few weeks ago, I found a lump on my chest wall that wasn't there before, so I have a ultrasound scheduled, but not until the 20th.... and I have a wedding next weekend, to get through first. I just don't have time to worry about it.
Anyway..I SO understand how Gill feels about the pink campaign, but am so grateful for everyone who participates.
Thanks all, for your beautiful pictures!
This was me on my cancerversary, Aug 3:

It took a lot for me to post this originally, but I think the ugly truth of it was important to show..

@1blond wow...I'm so proud and amazed by your strength, it's women like you that I really truly look up to. I want to thank you so much for sharing this with us.
I read about what you posted in the breast cancer thread, and again I think you are so strong and courageous for being able to post what you did. It's amazing and just so inspiring.
I really hope that your next ultasound (I think that's what it was) that you mentioned in the thread, brings no news, because no news is good news. I really wish you the best of luck with everything, and again you are such a strong willed women, and I really admire you. :)
I've posted this on your photo, but I'm posting it again just in case you don't get the comment. :)
@emileigh
Thanks, Emileigh!
You have made my heart swell!
Sadly we have a growing sisterhood here on 365....
Laura, Wendi, Theresa, Sarah Jane, Nancy Marie, and myself.
But..the support we've received has been amazing!
And every one of the "Pink Ladies" has a kick-ass story.
And there is Barbara who has a different type of cancer. There are probably many more out there who just don't talk about it.
Thanks again, everyone! I feel like you are doing this for me, even though I know you all have your own personal reasons.
there are some wonderful shots here combining beauty and humor of tough subject and like Airryn says Boobs are ace lets help keep them safe !!!! hahah. great tributes.
So, when I spied this light pooled under what was left of a glass of Pinot Noir, I noticed a somewhat breast-shaped sphere. Maybe I just had them on the brain as I want to participate in this Breast Cancer/Pink page. Wasn't until I looked again that I saw that I'd captured my very own pink ribbons!
I got a beautiful shot of my breasts under water, they look lovely (or they did before my children breast fed from them) and my husband enjoys it. Pity I can't post here cause I'm proud and thankful for them - even though they are a bit chunky and I am willing to give some away to someone who needs them.
Peace ladies and men who have had to suffer this terrible ailment.
October-Cancer?
