I went to vote for the still life today and found the thread was closed (although some people had posted their vote earlier today). Considering the thread was not open until Tuesday 5th ( which is earlier than it has been for a while now as it often got to Wed and even Thurs before it opened) I was wondering why it has been closed so early? Can we have regular times for the voting to opening i.e. Monday (as it used to be) and Friday evening UK time? for it to finish so that we know how long we have got to vote. Sorry to gripe but this has happened several times now that I have been too late in adding my vote.
It was up surprisingly early this week, but I guess it depends on when the mods (Ross?) have time... I would think it's best to close them by Saturday so they at least have the weekend to get the votes in and have the next theme ready by Monday.
Hi Cindy,
Sorry you missed out, it has been open for 4 days though! I closed it around 3pm to give the winner time to pick so I can get the new theme posted in time for next weeks theme to start.
@chard I'm afraid that was exactly the same thought that I had!!!!! Used to be a reality in some Northern Ireland elections.... much impersonation and voting for the dead....! "Vote early - vote often" always reminds me of that!
Thanks but I use to check every Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday for the voting to open ...I guess I just got tired of it being delayed. @Ross - Just asking for a regular/set opening and closing time please. Its not a huge issue just a niggle.
Let's not forget that running the 365project is probably a labor-intensive undertaking, and not Mr. Scrivener's full-time job. It seems unfair to ask for absolute consistency of operations, when we're not putting the food on his table.
And what about us in the Antipodes? WE always get bum steers with times allocated to uploading and voting and then not to mention a day has passed before we know what the theme is thereby reducing our days of theme shots to 7 - or 6 depending on the time stamp of the upload? @Scrivna - Ross any chance of having something to show which country you're in (guessing it's UK) and then the other times we in other parts of the world need to have things uploaded according to GMT.
Then another question, is the time allocated to upload set at GMT, PST or EST?
