RAWcomp 8 Competition

December 23rd, 2013
Well folks, here it is RAWcomp 8. I am really pleased that you voted my entry last week as the winner and I am honoured to be hosting RAWcomp 8!
I ran out today to grab this one for you in fairly severe weather so I hope you like it. I was aiming to ensure there was plenty of scope to improve/alter within the raw editing environment since for this challenge there is to be a few changes to the rules.
Below is the new rules taken directly from a post written by @iwatts:

"All editing must be done with a RAW processor, using no other software or plugins" - so either Lightroom, Adobe Camera RAW, the RAW processing software that came with your camera, but nothing else that does more than RAW processing - no NIK plugins, no compositions, no other editing other than RAW processing. This differentiates it from WWYD, where any editing goes"

So as I understand it this means that any changes that you can make within the environment of your chosen Raw Processor itself are fair game but no post processing besides that. Other than that, have fun... the link is here below:

Entries will be accepted until midnight on Friday 27/12 (GMT) and then voting will be until midnight on Sunday 29/12 (GMT) and a winner announced next Monday.

Ok... I will kick things off then with my own interpretation - All alterations within adobe raw. Adjustments to exposure, saturation, HSL and split tone values, plus a slight crop of the lower half.

just so i'm clear on the rules (in case i decide to take a run at this later), i can process in Lightroom, can't play with it in nik or topaz... but can i convert to black and white as long as i stay with LR?
December 23rd, 2013
@northy That's right.... if you're using LR simply to process the raw file and not doing anything after that in terms of manipulating the final image.

Spot removal and adjustment brushes are ok too as far as I understand as long as in raw processor (i.e. Lightroom, Camera Raw, etc), correct?
