Interesting ideas. I have seen articles claiming that it is the slight mirror asymmetry that lends character and actually imprints your face on others memory. Not being a psychologist, I leave that to the experts to haggle over. Though in both cases here, I find the first of each set of three images most pleasing.

I was surprised at how much of a difference there is between each side of my face. I don't know if it is exaggerated by my having my hair drawn tightly back from my face or not. Interesting!

I think it is fairest to go with even lighting, and make sure your head is not tilted or turned.
