Thanks to everyone who voted for me in the last challenge. It is the first competition I have won here so I was really pleased.
I have been struggling to make my mind up who to put forward for the next challenge. I was given a suggestion of Hilla Becher by @mastermek but decided that was not for me but it is one for someone else to remember for the future.
I was very tempted to go for an up to date Irish street photography whose work I like very much but as the previous challenge was street based I thought that perhaps was not a good idea.
The countryside local to me it is looking quite stunning at the moment so I thought perhaps an artist who was known for their landscapes would be appropriate so that is why I have chosen John Constable. I am surprised he has not be chosen before, maybe there is a good reason that I don't know about.
I hope this will inspire people globally to go out and look at their local countryside or parks and try and imagine, if he was painting today, how he would see the surroundings wherever you are.
Looking through his catalogue he did not only paint landscapes but I would like to see your interpretation of those but do feel free to be inspired by any of his work. I will rule nothing in and nothing out.
John Constable (11 June 1776 - 31 March 1837) was an English Romantic painter. Born in Suffolk, he is known principally for his landscape paintings of Dedham Vale, the area surrounding his home - now known as "Constable Country"- which he invested with an intensity of affection. "I should paint my own places best", he wrote to his friend John Fisher in 1821, "painting is but another word for feeling".
His most famous paintings include Dedham Vale of 1802 and The Hay Wain of 1821. Although his paintings are now among the most popular and valuable in British art, he was never financially successful and did not become a member of the establishment until he was elected to the Royal Academy at the age of 52. He sold more paintings in France than in his native England.
There are no rules apart from taking the photos in the time frame but as it is not within everybody's reach try and avoid too much post editing on the computer.
The challenge starts now, October 23, 2015 and I think should end on Friday 6th, November 2015. I will then pick my finalist for voting on.

Looking into the works of John Constable i notice that he had completed some paintings in a nearby town so I thought it would be fun to seek out the places. This one is of an old mill. I would like to think the wall in the foreground of my photo is perhaps part of the original mill.
