Welcome to the mundane-abstract challenge. First, thanks to Jo (@Jo38) for hosting the previous challenge and thanks to all those who participated and voted. And I am honored that my shot won .Thanks.
The Mundane Abstract Challenge has the same topic as the Mundane Challenge. The topic is chosen by the winner of the last Mundane Challenge who was Jodie Smilthall @jodies and she has chosen “FLIP FLOPS’’ for the next challenge. Below is Jodie’s definition, with all the various names by which these shoes are known.
FLIP FLOPS, also known as thongs, jandles or pluggers, depending on where you come from! I know them as thongs but thought we might get some interesting entries if I went with that title.
The starting date for abstract –flip-flops is Tuesday, August 30 and entries will be accepted through to the end of Tuesday, September 13th. I am on the east coast of the U.S. and will be using US DST.
* enter as many shots as you like
* each entry must be taken within the challenge period to be considered as a finalist.
* tag your entries abstract-flipflops.
If you are entering both the mundane and abstract challenges for flip-flops, your abstract image MUST DIFFER from any image you submit to the regular Mundane Challenge, so you cannot double tag your posts. You can be more imaginative in the use of the item as this is an abstract challenge. You are free to use any photographic technique to portray the mundane object.
You may enter as many photos on the subject as you'd like, but they need to be taken during the challenge time frame to be considered for the finals.
Here is a list of objects that have already been used: ice, toothbrush, screwdriver, veggie peeler, bar of soap, scissors, electric plug, paper clip, jar, language, cardboard, toothpick, hex key, hair comb, screw, button, key, coin, ballpoint pen, shoe, glass, plastic bag, thread, books, lightbulb, toilet paper, envelopes, door handle, tea bag, broom, tin can, egg(s), shoelaces, clothes peg/pin, wheel, mailbox, pill, bottle, chain, zipper, seed(s), vegetable(s), cutlery, playing cards, mobile phone, pasta, chair, camera, blanket, paper, rubber, tack, hanger, index finger, mouse (non furry), sock, bubbles, candles, bread, beds, tap (faucet), strainer, match, umbrella, paintbrush/es, corkscrew, stairs, mirror, rock, cup/mug, knob, buckle, rake, power pole, box, clock, nail, gears, hinge, wastepaper-basket, hammer, cheese grater, ruler, glasses, gate, chocolate, towel, light-switch, iron, garlic, and banana
Feel free to post your entries on this thread so as to inspire others or will assist others. Have fun! Looking forward to seeing your abstract flip-flop images!!
