Yesterday I used a Yorkshire Tea box as the backdrop for my photo and I wonder what else people have used as a background for their shots.
I have used Tetley Tea boxes a number of times yorkshire-tea.
There are two options for this thread:
1. Post a photo you have taken against a crazy backdrop, please show us here:
2. Take a new photo with a crazy backdrop and tag it crazy-backdrop
I have resorted to all sorts of odd backdrops - including plastic crates, scarves, nightgowns, and even windshield sun protectors.
the first time I used a placed background was in my original 365 project in 2011 - I was desperate to find something to shoot after working 11 hours & still being in the office, so I printed an African savannah landscape photo from the web on an A4 sheet and placed it behind a colleagues office 'toy', then added some some pineneedles and rosemary from the office garden....
The TV works quite well when connected to the laptop to produce some background too.....
I use a lot of different things as backdrops, especially in my still lifes. Wrapping paper, baking trays, all kind of material, curtains, etc. Good for light reflection and a nice bokeh is a space or first aid blanket. I covered a A4 / approx. US Letter sized cardboard on one side with the silver, on the other side with the gold, and have a good reflector in the field. But if you use it as blanket backdrop it makes a nice bokeh, alternatively golden or silvery.
I was challenged to take a high key with a white background using a flash last week. The only thing I had white to use was 12x12 scrapbooking paper, which I propped up with an empty box from the chocolates my sons sold in boy scouts. But, it worked! LOL!
well... i'm not sure i've gone to quite that extent... but i often use an iPad lighting app with some interesting patterns for a backdrop which is always fun :)
The dinosaurs and I have used the computer screen several times. This is my favorite. The Allosaurus is doind a spot on imitation of the T-Rex in "Jurassic Park." We had to pause and go back, and pause and go back again multiple times looking for just the right moment on the film to capture.
