I am so excited that I won the last round of the challenge hosted by Clare. Thanks Clare for choosing a great theme, and thanks to you all for voting for my shot! It has been a while since I hosted a challenge, here goes!
So mine is challenge number 25 and after looking at the list of past themes, I have gone with a compositional technique of “Composing with Negative Space”
Negative space is the area between and around objects in a photo. Use it to see shapes and sizes more effectively, and produce better-composed images.
Negative space defines and emphasises the main subject of a photo, drawing your eye to it. It provides "breathing room", giving your eyes somewhere to rest and preventing your image from appearing too cluttered with "stuff”. Simplicity is the key to composing with negative space - choose your subject and really showcase it.
This challenge
So feel free to go with portraits, landscapes, still life - any genre/style/technique to create negative space in black and white.
