Hi Ya'll! So I got home today from work and found out I won!
This was a great photo to edit (thanks Mel P) and I think everyone did such a great job.
I had a really hard time trying to pick a photo and even picked a couple before I settled on this one, surfer at Venice Beach..! Got me really looking forward to summer here in southern california!
And so the competition begins, and you have all week to come up with your own edit. So excited! You can copy my pic from 365 album, its my picture for today or get it from my flickr album:
Entry to this competition starts on Monday Feb 28, 2011 and will accept entries until Sunday evening March 6, 2011. I'll pick 5 of my faves and then post winner monday morning. Please tag all submissions wwyd7.
Next to your uploaded pic, above 'Like' and 'Tweet' there's a white block with a code in it. 'Copy' this code ....then come back here and 'paste' it in the reply box at the bottom of thread. Voila. Hope this works for you. :)
@petervanallen Hey Peter, I took it into photoshop, cropped it and used a Paint the Moon action called Illuminate (it was an exclusive on her FB page a while back) that gave it the bright almost washed out look... then i took it into Corel Painter Essentials 4, opened it up in there... i ran a sketch over it which was fairly saturated, then i ran over the top of that a custom setting - soft edge cloner (brush) jagged (edges) basic (paper) intense (colour)... once i was happy with where it was at i restored some detail around the man and along the horizon using the soft edge cloner brush manually! I think thats all i did! LOL :) I dont use corel very often but on the occasions i have i've been pretty happy with what it can do! :)
@winnie016 Hey! I almost missed that. I just used a simple texture and 'soft-lighted' it, several times to get the affect I wanted and then just adjusted the lighting!
@relicsong it is but his policy on "rescuing" goes something like; ah well they're probably going to drown anyway might as well put them out of their misery *blam blam blam*
@cmc1031 Either shimpygk uses Knoll light filter (not in photoshop) or just create a new layer, select white brush and start painting the ray of light by pressing the mouse at the starting point (left) to the direction you want by pressing shift button and click mouse at the end point(right) at the same time.
