I want to say thank you all for the votes and wonderful comments on my Lego Construction Workers photo for the Mike Stimpson Challenge. I don’t usually participate in these challenges, because they make my brain hurt. But who can pass up recreating Lego historical photos?
For the next challenge, I’ve selected Norman Rockwell. He was a 20th-century American painter and illustrator and is most famous for the cover illustrations of everyday life scenarios he created for The Saturday Evening Post magazine for more than four decades. Now, I know that the first word that comes to mind to describe Rockwell is “Americana.” However, I would like to add these descriptions, "Vintage”, “Everyday Life” and “Patriotic.” Quite often Rockwell’s works were inspired by photographs (that’s where we fit in). So for this challenge, I’d like to see how YOU interpret Norman Rockwell’s style. Plus with 365 being a global site, I’m interested to see a non-American view of his work.
Remember to tag your photo “NormanRockwell_Challenge”
This challenge will run for one week starting today, August 26th, ending next Friday, September 2nd at midnight (CST).
Only photos taken during these times will be accepted for the top 5 and multiple entries are fine.
Here’s an interesting link discussing how Rockwell was an accomplished photographer, using his photography to capture the meticulous details for his illustrations.
