I've just finished reading "Chasing the Light" by Ibarionex Perello and found it very interesting and insightful. Its more of a book about learning to see things differently and whilst not particularly technical, it does give some great ideas about how to view scenes etc.
I'm hoping someone can recommend some other books I should read. I know there is lots of information out there on the net but sometimes a good book about photography is much better. Maybe post some images that you have captured as a result of the book. I'll start of it off with this one that I would never have taken had I not read chasing the light. I'm a big fan of getting out there and trying new things and experimenting but sometimes some guidance is necessary...
I am a big fan od Joe McNally's books. I have the Hot Shoe Diaries. It a book about the creative use of external flash, but he does not delve into the technical aspects, he describes mostly ideas and passion, trying to find the feeling you want to convey.
Chasing the Light is a book i am wanting to read for a long time now too.
Oh, and i should also recommend Composition by David Prakel. This is not technical is about framing and seeing shapes and shadows. It's interesting and to this one you don't need great equipment. Any camera will do.
@jonesp i guess you will love this book, as i did. Be sure to check out also "the moment it clicks". What i like most about McNally's books is the passionate way he describes his work. And also, his photos are awesome. That helps a lot.
