Hey Ive been testing out painting with a flash light, and I have gotten a couple I like, but I want to know what other people do and their process of taking long exposures painting with light. Settings, technique, and tools. Ive seen some really cool pictures and want to see some more, so post your light pictures so you everybody can see the cool technique! Heres one of my favorites Ive done
For that one, I focused with the light opened, then closed the light. Used a 30 secs exposure, painted the halo and pointed the flash light at each wings for a few secs, then above the angel for about 2 secs, to light him (cause there was no other light)
@eyebrows@joklubek@azza_l@pocketmouse@maola@vikdaddy those are sweet! the car ones are really cool, how long did it take to outline the car? and the face looks so dramatic, crazy to stay still for 19 sec. And the angels looks curious whats going on, awesome haha, like the halo. and i like what i think are the cherries, looks really good for what im guessing is free hand, and vik it still looks cool even if you think it was a fail, the backgrounds awesome! howd you get that?
and again awesome shots peeps! keep em coming
I set my camera to bulb and use a remote control to take the exposure. Usually set the aperture between 16-22 to make sure the image is sharp. Then I wave the lights around and hope for the best.
Required a 30 sec shutter and three different coloured crepe paper caps for my torch, see the day prior's photo for those.
Aaron L @azza_l has done loads of good ones, I like this one in particular:
I want to try it out some more tho with more colors
19 second exposure (yes, he stayed almost perfectly still for that long!!!), while I painted his face with a torch.
and again awesome shots peeps! keep em coming
