Picnik is good and free, it's a web-based application and very easy to use . . .

Pixlr and Picnik are two good, free, online photo editors. They will allow you to adjust white balance (in a bit of a difficult way, but it still works), correct exposure settings, and crop.

You can also download trials of Adobe products like Lightroom and Photoshop - they're both fantastic and lots of fun to play with! I think the trials generally last about 30 days.

http://www.gimp.org/ The Gimp is a very strong tool, and it's free and open source. I don't use it, but lots of people do. It covers everything form basic adjustments to advanced photo manipulation.

I found pixenate a couple of days ago, it's really easy to use and save back on to your computer, I've yet to explore the others.

I agree with Daniel, Gimp is great I love it! It's free and can be downloaded on both Mac and PC. They have lots of tutorials on their site to help you but it's very easy once you play around with it a bit.

PICNIK!!! It is free, has many features, and very user-friendly. There is a premium version for $5 a month if you choose to pay month to month. (It's cheaper if you purchase more months at one time). I have had the premium version for nearly a year now, and it is AMAZING! If you're new to photo editing, this is what I would recommend. I've tried Photoshop, but it's a little more complicated, in my opinion.
