I have been posting the same boring pictures day after for the past few days. I can't think of anything good to shoot! Can anyone help me out!? I just need a little inspiration!

@sarahbear9995 for someone who's bored, those are pretty awesome pics! it takes an artist to make the mundane look interesting, and you certainly do that. :) i noticed that most of your shots are indoors...i suggest that you go out, in the front lawn, in the backyard, in the street corner nearest your house and let your eyes---and mind---wander. i'm pretty sure you'll see something that would break your 'cycle'. :)

I would change my focus and think not that my photos are boring , but how can I improve on what I have done,
I posted an article couple of weeks ago about self critique and it said that in order to improve on a photo I have to like something about it first,, I think the same applies when you feel bored,,, find something you like in your photos and improve on them.
There plenty of inspiration just on this site alone.. start looking at the latest photos posted, and try and improve on what is posted here.
find sites that offer free edit programs, plenty out there.. Tilt shift,
Rubic's photo cube etc.
Do the theme comp. or lately we have had some side comps... very fun and easy to do.
Walk / drive a different way to work/school for a week and see a new world. drive to the beach or mountains. Walk through a mall and do from the hip shots.
Go to a different neighborhood ,
There is a photo waiting to happen in almost any situation, you just have to be open to find it.
The more you tell yourself your photos are are boring , the longer you will believe it..

Your pictures are great. On your page you said you wanted to improve your photography this year. Well, me too. Some days I go out walking around and look (quite often just in my own garden too) because there's always something. A color, a texture and my best day was frost. Frost changes everything into something different. I love water drops - great macro test right there.

Play with different settings on your camera. Try different ways to process your pictures. Play with light. The last few nights I went out as it was getting a little darker. Sometimes I go out before sunrise.

You have a wonderful imagination and I can't wait to see your 365 pictures,.

my rules for me::
1. take your camera everywhere. i don't care if it + lenses weighs 5 lbs, take it!
2. don't be shy - can i take your photo? can i take photos in your store/business?
3. put on your hazard lights and pull over to get a shot.
4. hit that shutter button at LEAST 100 times a day, and don't delete ANYTHING until you get home to check out what you got full-sized
5. Look for things that are out of place (ie. an old run down shack in an industrial area)
6. You can't go wrong with: silhouettes, sunsets, sunrises, birds on power lines, macro shots of leaves, flowers, grass, water drops
7. Drive over the bridge, then turn right. Park, walk under the bridge. Take photos.
8. Explore! Waste gas and go in search of things you can photograph, you will be amazed with what you will find!

Good luck, keep on truckin! :DDD

I just browsed through your album and I believe the problem is not with your photos.
You are way too hard on yourself.None of your photos are boring, not at all.Maybe something else going on in your life that is making you loose your confidence in your photography skill?
You`re good,don`t you quit,okay?! ... :) ....and hey,there`s someone here who photographs dog poop every day,now that`s.... I can`t find a word that`s not offensive :)...
You`re good,just keep on shooting!

@sarahbear9995 Your album are interesting and all are nice shots. Try to go out and explore the world. Try to experiment shooting landscape, macro, street photography, etc. Try to find your comfort level. Currently I think your doing a great job since your making ordinary and boring objects extra ordinary and beautiful. You already have the artist eyes just keep on shooting.

I agree with everyone above particularly Nikkers and SPace...I think we are all our own worst critic. It's digital - so quantity of shots does not hit the wallet - just go for it and click away - be brave - lie down, bend over, climb up to the top of stairs or mountain, climb a tree, stand in the middle of traffic, stand on a chair, crawl under a table - shoot the same thing from every angle and and in every light. Try different settings, various times of the day - get a close up, move away etc etc. And most of all - carry your camera 24/7 - that's when you get the chance pics, the lucky breaks, the odd, the once-in-a-lifetime capture. It happens when it happens, when you least expect it, without even looking for it. And they are the winners. You definitely have the eye, your shots ARE interesting - so continue on this journey of yours - and have fun fun fun!!! Looking forward to following you! - agghh - now I sound like a stalker!!! :)

Good advice all around here. Do take your camera everywhere and take pictures of things that "you" find interesting and even things you don't. Just take pictures. Afterwards look at them, pick one or two and play around with editing.

I highly recommend you participate in the Browse and Pick threads. Go to the last poster, look at their pics, pick one you like, copy/paste the "share" code on the browse and pick thread and let them know why. The next person in line will do the same with yours. This is a good way to look at how other photos appeal to you and you will get some idea of what others like about your pictures. Check it out. :-)

@spaceman Someone posts a pic of poo every day?

I suppose 365 is a daily log, but is it a serious project
or are they just going through the motions.

Is the person called Fiona? 'Fi sees art as shit'

I have seen your photos and think you have a lot of creativity and variety. I think all of the above ideas are good. Yes, take 100+ shots each day. When taking a picture of a subject, I occasionally look around and see something I have missed taking a picture of. Walk through your house, your neighborhood, etc. Take each subject from a variety or angles, perspectives, focus, on the spot cropping, on the spot framing, etc. Take one day and take pictures of that one subject at intervals during the day to see what different lighting does. Above all: have fun!

@tolpol
Nope,it`s The Poop Guy.
I understand his somewhat artistic view, but I don`t think he`s succeeding in making it ... deep,or at least intrigueing. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder,so who am I to judge?

@tolpol --- "I suppose 365 is a daily log, but is it a serious project
or are they just going through the motions."

I have to disagree with this. The project can be what each of us want out of it. Some are serious and some are not. It is really up to the person doing the pictures. It is a personal look at a year in our lives in whatever form we wish to show.

@dmortega It was a joke about poo!! 'log' 'motions' 'Fi sees (faeces)' !!?!!
January 27th, 2011
@tolpol --- Ohhhhhhh..... OK! I get it. Hahaha!!!! Never mind then. ;-)

@spaceman Hopefully when the snow is gone I can start getting pictures of POOP in greener more photogenic settings. Since I stage nothing, it is ultimately what I see as I work each day.
