2015 June 15: Our weather pattern has settled in to the typical Southern summer: high temperatures in the mid-90 degrees F. (made to feel even hotter by high humidity), with huge puffy clouds lazily floating overhead to give relief from the scorching sun.
These are gorgeous days to settle in a comfy lawn chair strategically placed in a shady spot ...with a book and an iced beverage (My favorites are filtered ice water, iced sweet tea, or Dr. Pepper!) -- or to simply stay indoors and enjoy the air conditioning!
Where in the south are you? I'm in GA. in the middle, to the west, almost in Alabama! We're 25 miles north of Columbus, GA. It was sooooooo hot here today! Yuck!! Later tonight we had some wonderful showers to cool it down into the mid 80's. No pretty fluffy clouds like this, but I did enjoy my iced, sweet tea in front of the AC!!! I love days like this and the sky is such a beautiful blue isn't it? FAV!
@cashew Kathy, I live in north central Alabama, close to Tennessee ...near Huntsville, AL. I've been to a couple of fascinating towns in Georgia: Atlanta (of course! Everyone should go to Atlanta at least once! -- also, I have relatives who lived there before retiring to Dauphin Island) and Albany (which the locals pronounce as All-benny! I found that quite interesting!)
I imagine that your weather must be about the same as ours ...and I would bet that your sweet iced tea is as good as ours!
