Not another shot from the Greys Court lilypond, this is a water-lily that grows in a half-barrel in our back garden. It and the half barrel were birthday presents from Lester. I can't remember how many years ago he gave them to me but I do know it was at least 12.
The lily has flowered nearly every year since. It only ever throws up one bloom at a time and some years there's only ever one.
This is the first bloom this year. Each one usually lasts 2 - 3 days and it's such a joy to see them open and close in harmony with the sun.
