This swallowtail lit on the tree branch and it looked like the leaf was covering part of his wing but when I looked at the pics, I could see his wings were all chewed up. Still pretty and when he flitted it off, he was paired up with another swallowtail.

@paul_anderson I know, right? @eyesmile thank you, I have no idea. I was sad when I realized it was him but then I remembered he was hanging with another butterfly, creating the next generation so all was good - didn't affect his flight or his beauty :-)
It's the one butterfly we have in our yard frequently, but I've never have one alite so I can photograph it! You did so beautifully, and it's nice to know that this small impairment didn't cost him his partner!
