Today I have spent the morning taking the Christmas decorations down and moving the tree outside ready for recycling. My Mum always tells me that today is 12th Night but I know that a lot of people consider the 5th as 12th night. A quick google revealed that happily both are correct depending whether you are working on a day/night or night/day system. I (apparently) am operating our ancient ancestors methods of night/day!
This photo is inspired by @oconnor71 who took an excellent photograph on the 7th of January last year and at the time I thought "wish I'd thought of that". Nicola's is actually a lot better as she had nice shiny floor boards (carpet here) and managed a good d.o.f. (I was balancing on a pouffe to fit it all in and avoid photographing my feet!). OMG, the lengths we'll go to get our photo of the day!!
I was taking decs down this morning and will finish this evening although heaven knows when they will get back up in the loft. Love the shot - brilliant for today! I would copy if I didn't haave a plastic fantastic.
I didn't know the 5th was considered 12th night by some - our decorations came down yesterday just because I was going to be in the office today and it takes forever to pack them up!
@annemary It was at the stage I was wishing that mine too was artificial! @taz_o I was getting worried which is why I rather sadly googled for details @redkiwi It was a mess! Took me half an hour of solid vacuuming to clear up, it looked so daunting I decided to make them into shapes instead!
This is great. Really made me smile, our tree was so good this year, there were barely any needles!! I think we put it up a lot earlier last year. Thank you for the credit too Emma. Amazing what cleaning up after xmas can inspire :-)
