16th August 2019

We’ve finally managed to get a roofer out to check out the leaking guttering at the front of the house. After the no show by the first choice on Monday, we were giving up hope. Although roofer number 2 arrived a little later, he did call to keep us updated. In the event he was straight up his ladder and had cleared an entire bucket of moss out of the gutter which we strongly suspect was the reason it had blocked and in turn caused strange discolouration on the living room walls. He wasn’t going to charge us but Colin forced £20 on gin for a drink and I think we’ve found ourselves a roofer for when the flat roof needs redoing in a year or so.

Lucky the roofer had come this morning as it tipped it down this afternoon and pleased to report no Niagara Falls this time. I spent the rest of the day making up the 200 plus Christmas cards from the reprinted order that arrived when Mum and Ian we’re here.

These hanging baskets in the High Street brought a little colour to an otherwise grey day.
Love those flowers!
