Day 191 of semi lock down

I met Sarah for lunch this morning over in Raynes Park. We wore our masks and ate at the excellent Lemon and Thyme cafe, finishing with Italian ice cream. It was lovely to see her and I got a chance to mention my idea of creating a montage print to support St George’s ‘First Touch’ charity of which Sarah is Charity Director. She is very enthusiastic and suggested I think of using images from SW17 (Tooting), SW18 (Wandsworth) and SW19 (Wimbledon) which is very useful as I stuck at 17 for Tooting where I lived many years ago.

I really enjoyed meeting up but very soon after I arrived back home I felt very rough. At first I started to worry in case it was Covid 19 although I was not coughing and was not hot! I suddenly remembered my flu jab and recognised the symptoms as occasional side effects. I was fine for the past two years but felt the same back in 2017 just a couple of days before we were due to travel to Australia. I started to feel a bit better after 3-4 hours. Sydney is coming out in sympathy with me as he too looks rather poorly after we have been away for a few days. He is only just over a year and a half old so in hamster terms he is quite young, I really hope he picks up a bit.

Final bit of news is that Donald Trump who was diagnosed with Covid 19 a few days ago has been admitted to hospital - after his initial denials of the virus really existing and later ones that it was only like flu, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer person!!
