26th December 2020

Day 283 since the start of the 1st lock down.

Boxing Day.

It was greyer than yesterday and with a slight drizzle in the air we headed out after a lie in and the last of the washing up from yesterday - dishwashers- overrated!!

Very surprisingly despite the cold temperature there were two bumblebees attempting to find nectar on the ivy in the back garden. This is not the best macro shot but evidence of that!

Bushy Park was absolutely packed with people as it had been a few weeks ago during the last lock down. We took a different route towards the SHAEF memorial and then towards the Leg of Mutton Pond. Plenty of geese and ducks to share the bird seed we had bought and I fed the swans and geese by hand although the swans can be quite painful as they insist of taking my entire finger in their beaks when pecking at the seed.

When we got back we opened Hester and Sophie’s presents to us. There were a lot of presents yesterday and as preparing and cooking Christmas dinner takes quite some time I did not want to rush them yesterday. Yet more lovely gifts, great shower gel and books and a calendar from a photographer Hester and I know.

Day 2 of turkey - this time one of my favourite meals with all the cold veg and turkey, home made cranberry sauce and piccalilli and pickles for Colin. The Lidl £18 turkey is lasting very well.
