2nd November 2021

1 year, 214 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

We have been keeping an eye on the weather over the past week orzo and so headed off to Winkworth Arboretum in Surrey to see the autumn colours. Every year I remember about the Arboretum normally just after the leaves have finally come off the trees so we had our fingers crossed… as apparently had many other people as we ended d up parking in the auxiliary car park. Despite the many people, once inside we quickly spread out so were quite safe. Although the trees may be a little more colourful in a week or so, the colours were still lovely.

We would have had a coffee when we arrived but unfortunately the cafe was closed with a temporary one in it’s place with little seating and long queues.

We headed to a pub- the Inn on the Lake which we had last been to probably over ten years ago. It was very quiet and despite not having a booking, we were welcomed in and enjoyed a lovely lunch. I was healthy and had a shredded duck salad and diet coke but then ruined it all with a sticky toffee pudding afterwards!

It was a nice day and good to get out for a breath of fresh air.
