8th November 2021

1 year, 220 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

Today eight years ago my niece Isabelle was born, well timed on my Mum’s birthday on the 8th of November. I had sent parcels to Staffordshire for Isabelle and to the North Yorkshire Dales as Mum is staying with Hester for her birthday. I had a FaceTime with Mum and Hester in the morning which was brilliant, it’s so nice to see people and I think that my very heavy basket of 12 different ingredients to go with the Ottolenghi ‘Simple’ book was well received.

I had to cut our chat a little short as Colin had the final visit to the dentist to repair his very expensive crowns and bridge which broke after only a few weeks. I waited for him in my usual place of Marble Hill car park and it was lovely to see the autumnal trees and a display of large poppies around the fields.

In the afternoon I bought some posh sweets for Colin’s birthday next week (marzipan fruits and chocolate golf balls!) and posted a card order received via my Etsy site which cunningly pays for my recent renewal of listings for Christmas.
