23rd December 2021

1 year, 264 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

I braved the train today as I had a date to catch up with Sarah and deliver Christmas presents. Very unusually the trains were on time and I got there by 10.30 and also bumped into (socially distanced bumped) into my friend Sonya who lives opposite which was nice.

We took Olly the spaniel and Ted the Border Collie out for their walk and this is Ted - a rescue dog - relaxing in his forever home not tied up outside in the cold with no food in all weathers. He seems eternally grateful. It was so nice seeing Sarah. Patrick, Lillie and Izzy.

Afterwards I got the train back to Kingston and met up with Colin. I had just three things to do - find tinned mangos, buy a gift bag and spend my £5 voucher only valid until the 31st of this month and I managed all three and spent my voucher on a polar bear decoration for the tree - was £8, was reduced by 30% and then £5 off so only 60p!! He is very nice and I have named timed Covington (after Covid) as a reminder for future years but I do not think anyone will forget these times.

We caught the train home as we are avoiding buses and in the afternoon I did my annual task of making coconut ice and fudge for the family. Slight hiccup as my food colouring had gone off which required a visit to 5 different shops until I struck lucky in Tescos - this is still a strange colours but not as being as before!

Last thing of the day was to hang the Mistletoe that we scrimped on Tuesday at Bushy Park.
