What I'm Thankful For

Our water heater broke the day before Thanksgiving causing a brief panic. How were we going to shower, to clean up after the turkey dinner...? Fortunately, the plumber was still working and came to our rescue. Though somewhat poorer, we'll have hot water for Thanksgiving.

So I am thankful for many things, but the plumber is at the top of the list this year.
Good thing. That would have made thinks very adventurous to say the least.

@bkbinthecity Yes, I was prepared to heat the water to wash the dishes, but cold showers are a whole other level of discomfort!

Either that's the biggest water heater in the world, or you've taken it from a very low angle! Hopefully, the latter! Glad you got it fixed.

@richardshears Thanks. I shot from sort of a bad angle as it's in the attic.

so glad you were able to get it replaced!!! The Gas Co. turned my water heater off 2 days before Christmas one year (claimed it was leaking) -- now there's real panic!! (But we got it fixed and back on since a friend of mine is a plumber). I understand your stress!!

@cscecil Thanks for understanding my stress! Afterwards, because it was a family holiday, I thought of my great grandmothers, one of whom lived on a farm without running water, another in a New York City tenement. They probably would have thought me a wimp! But I'm still thankful we got it fixed.

@eudora reminds me of my son's first Thanksgiving as a married man ... he went home from dinner at my house, only to find that his furnace died. And it was a wintery, COLD night! That's a nice shiny water heater you have there! :)

you didn't need that, but glad everything worked out for you. i like the perspective in your shot ... enough water for the whole family!

Nice one. Don't you just love tradesmen who willingly help out a moment of disaster? Nice one. Great shot.
