My husband and I just returned from a 5-day trip to New York and New Jersey. Our son had a conference, so we toured the city with our granddaughter. I grew up in New Jersey, but I hadn't been back in years. It was wonderful....
I love the Met! It's been a while since I was there- but it was the kind of place I could get lost in for days! I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves. I'm a Jersey girl too! (But not that ridiculous kind they show on TV- the real kind).
@olivetreeann I've lived in Louisiana for a long time, and it's always a little embarrassing to tell people I'm from NJ because they always chuckle and say "New Joisey?" I was vindicated this week--I visited my home town, Summit, and it was even prettier than when I was a kid.... Where did you grow up?
@eudora Not too far from you- in Caldwell/West Caldwell! I always correct people when they joke about New Jersey like that. First I tell them that that is actually a Brooklyn accent. And then I tell them the only other place people actually speak like that is Jersey City (because it's right across the river). lol But lately I've had more people saying "Oh you're one of those Jersyelicious girls". That really gets me going! Of all the people I know who grew up in NJ, I have yet to meet ANYONE that looks or acts like they do (I don't even watch the show- I've just seen the commercials which are a total turn off)! And I did know a few who had the big hair- but that crew is all TV land stuff, not real life even though they try to make you think that's what Jersey is all about. Oh well- guess that gets me going!! Summit is a really pretty town too. Glad you enjoyed seeing it again!
Excellent capture and pov! How lovely the colors and textures are. I've always wanted to see NYC and visit these places. Thank you for showing me some of the ones that I've only heard about. :)
