I went to Cajun Village to photograph the old buildings, collected from area plantations and repurposed as antique and craft shops. A hand-made sign said "Alligator," but I thought it was a touristy gimmick. And then I saw this guy, sunning on the bank--but safely behind a fence topped with barbed wire. I thought maybe he was a fake, but when I reviewed my pictures I saw that he had moved....
