Deep South, Hard Freeze by eudora

Deep South, Hard Freeze

The roses were still blooming in this garden, but the sprinkler system apparently ran all night with temperatures in the 20's. When I drove by, I noticed a father and his three daughters admiring the shapes of the icicles. The girls had never seen them before. They took some home to show their mom.
Great capture, they are most interesting.Hope they make.

Fav. So beautiful. Glad the sprinkler system ran all night so you could produce such a wonderful image. Fav.

It's a beautiful, but sort of sad image to see those poor probably shocked roses.

What an unexpected sight. lots to see when looking at the icicles, but the pure roses don't know what happened to them,

Nice shot! Pretty but sad for the roses. Hope the sprinkler system wasn't damaged being left on in a hard freeze.

Poor roses! But even in the sorrow of their demise, there's quite a bit of beauty. I must say it's amazing to me that the South is experiencing the cold just like us.

Coming from a place that got 60 inches of snow in three days, it’s hard to think of how beautiful an icicle is when you’ve never seen one before!
