The state flower

The magnolia is the state flower of both Louisiana and Mississippi. We had a beautiful magnolia tree at our former home in Baton Rouge, and I loved photographing it. I had to "borrow" a neighbor's tree for this shot.

It is gorgeous! The light and shadows are perfect. We have a magnolia tree but it has not ever once bloomed that I can recall. We are still waiting
